as the annoyingly overachieving tracy flick, witherspoon is not only superb in her delivery but also in her restrained method of gaining sympathy from the audience without saying a word. she hasn't been in a decent picture since winning an oscar for her weakly-acted role as june carter cash in 2005's walk the line -- the odds of her returning to pictures of this calibre any time soon are now slim to none. greatest line: you look like you could use a cupcake
