we know that the academy hasn't always liked nominating canadians, but o'hara's performance in the christopher guest picture about award-show-buzz was so good. over a lengthy career, o'hara has far too often been unceremoniously relegated to the roles that typify actresses of her age (soccer moms, school principals, and quirky store-owners / florists who give a couple of good one-liners and that's it). she truly shines in fyc, begging the question: if maggie smith won an oscar for playing an oscar loser, wouldn't you think o'hara would at least be nominated for playing a potential oscar nominee? dumb.greatest moment: below
