i normally love catherine deneuve, but i was so much more impressed by the supporting performance of fallon as brenda, the jailor who strikes up a protective and loyal friendship with selma (bjork) who is in prison for murder. 

greatest moment: brenda's intense and emotional reaction to her friend's execution.
